- JellyFish is a neural network based backgammon game - on the highest level it matches the best humans in the world. Freeware versions [~ 1.5 Mbyte download] have all playing levels available ; extra features available in the non-free versions.

- Igowin by David Fortland is a free Go program for MS Windows ; allows play on a 9x9 grid

Board games with no time-pressure

- Clickomania by Matthias Schüssler involves clicking on connected groups of same-coloured tiles; the clicked tiles disappear, others fall down to fill their place. The aim is to eliminate as many tiles as possible, leaving as few isolated tiles as possible. NB - clickomania is - postcardware - you must send the author a postcard if you continue to use the program!
- PolySquares by Brian Bitto is a neat game where tetris pieces are fitted onto a board; 3x3 filled squares disappear & the aim is to postpone cluttering the board as long as possible.

- LaserTank - A puzzle game to manouver a tank to reach a flag. 770 contributed levels. [207 Kbyte]
Word games- Hangaroo is a hang-man like game with a large number of words/phrases. Requires a faster machine than my slow old 133MHz PC.

Tetris-like

- Free Tetrix is an excellent version of Tetris, with addictive music.

- Bedter is a nice, small version of Tetris. Includes music. Keys can be a bit sensitive, despite sensitivity setting.

- A1 Geofit by Michael Treciokas is a nice tetris variant with irregularly-shaped triangular pieces
Card Games- Midnight Sunitaire by John Taraldsen is another way for the solitaire-addict to kill a few hours or decades.

Games
- TypingMaster Games is a free package of three challenging typing games, which have been designed for typists to improve their typing speed and reactivity as well as cut down on errors.

- TurboRisk by Mario Ferrari - computer version of the classic board game [470 Kbyte]
Parodies- 'Mylk' is a parody of the original game 'Myst'. Both the original Macintosh program (by Bart Gold) and the PC version (by Wayne Twitchell) can be obtained from Reinier Spruijt's Myst Spoofs page, along with a walkthrough.
